Take Good Care of the Skin You're In!

July is National UV Safety Month -- which makes sense, as it tends to be one of the busiest months for outdoor activities where we expose our skin to the sun's ultraviolet (UV) rays.  Skin cancer and eye problems are just two issues that can result from over-exposure to the sun. Skin cancer is the most common type of cancer in the United States. Ultraviolet rays from the sun are the main cause of skin cancer. UV damage can also cause wrinkles and blotchy skin.

Help to spread the word during the month of July, and take extra precautions to prevent skin cancer and reduce the risk of UV damage.

Here are some of the steps you can take today to protect your skin:

  • Stay out of the sun between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

  • Use sunscreen with SPF 15 or higher.

  • Cover up with long sleeves and a hat.

  • Check your skin regularly for changes.  How to Spot Skin Cancer
