Needles and Medications

Lead Acid Batteries
Lead acid batteries, or car batteries, are usually accepted at most scrap dealers and auto parts stores. Some stores will require a fee; make sure to check ahead to see if they do. Handle and store lead acid batteries with caution.
Household Electronics
Household electronics are currently accepted at Warren Township, Grayslake Public Works, City of Highland Park and Prairieland Disposal in Lake Barrington. Visit the electronics recycling information page on the SWALCO website.
Latex Paint
Latex Paint is not accepted at SWALCO HCW events because it is not considered hazardous. Consider trying to reuse paint, or find a new project to use the paint. If that is not possible, some hardware stores will recycle the paint for a small fee.
