Leslie Kischer has been selected as an Enterprising Woman of the Year. This is one of the most prestigious business awards for entrepreneurs and business leaders. Winning the Enterprising Women of the Year Award is a once-in-a-lifetime recognition.

In 2019, Lake County United Way launched the social service line 2-1-1 for Lake County residents in need. 2-1-1 is a national service that connects millions of people to help every year in the following areas: basic human needs services, physical and mental health services, older adult services, employment and income services, children, youth and family childcare services, volunteering, and community/government and events. Christine Hammerlund, President of Assured Healthcare Staffing, has been nominated and selected to serve on the Advisory Council on Agriculture, Small Business and Labor.

The Council members serve a two-year term and meet twice a year to provide their views on current business conditions to Chicago Fed President Charles Evans and other senior officials of the Bank. Input from Council members on regional economic conditions helps contribute to the Federal Reserve System's formulation of national monetary policy.

The purpose of the Council is to promote communication between the Chicago Fed and representatives from agriculture, small business and labor sectors in the Seventh Federal Reserve District.

Assured Healthcare Staffing is proud to have two of our school nurses in the process of becoming state certified to administer and train other nurses, school staff and employees to administer the life saving antidote, naloxone.

The Lake County Opioid Initiative has recommended that all area high schools and middle schools begin training school nurses to administer opiate-reversing drugs to students in the event of an overdose. The opiate-reversing drug, naloxene, is an antidote to opioid overdoes that is administered through injection or nasal spray. Nurses can now be trained to administer naloxone to any student experiencing an overdose without any legal barriers.
