Assured Healthcare trained to administer life saving antidote

Assured Healthcare has joined the fight against drug overdose in schools.

Assured Healthcare Staffing is proud to have two of our school nurses in the process of becoming state certified to administer and train other nurses, school staff and employees to administer the life saving antidote, Naloxone.

The Lake County Opioid Initiative has recommended that all area high schools and middle schools begin training school nurses to administer opiate-reversing drugs to students in the event of an overdose. The opiate-reversing drug, Naloxone, is an antidote to opioid overdoes that is administered through injection or nasal spray. Nurses can now be trained to administer Naloxone to any student experiencing an overdose without any legal barriers.

The Lake County Opioid Initiative includes representatives from both Live4Lali and the Lake County Health Department, which are state-approved overdose prevention training entities. According to the Opioid Initiative, there is not a community that has been immune from opioid use disorder and overdose.
